For a long time, I was oblivious to wood. In my world there were only Oak trees, which was the only tree I knew, and I definitely had no idea how to turn a random log into something beautiful. Until I married a woodworker. Suddenly, there was wood and ‘stuff-made-out-of-wood’ everywhere.
Gradually, I hopped onto the woodworking train. I started by making the occasional toy for our children, I experimented with carving, and I ended up with a 650 lbs beast of a woodturning lathe.
I love making things that are beautiful in all ways. When a set of peppermills or a platter comes off the lathe, I want it to look aesthetically pleasing, feel amazing, and work flawlessly. I get real happiness from making things that draw the eye and that become a part of people’s everyday life.
