Picture
I studied at St. Martin’s School of Art and the West of England Academy. I live in the Radnorshire Hills overlooking the Wye Valley across to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. I work in oil, watercolour, pen, pencil, charcoal and pastel as well as wood engraving and etching.
If living is a process of coming to terms with our surroundings, then I would see my paintings as an interpretation of this process by means of inquiry or celebration; a public reflection of private rejoicings and unexpected incidents. I work from small sketches, colour notes and detailed observations which later become reworked and combined in my studio. My taxidermy collection provides me with models for my more elusive subjects!
“I paint what I see, what I enjoy and what I remember”
I have exhibited widely in England and Wales. Details are on my website
